History of Erinshire

The Erinshire home was originally built on a hill top in northern Abilene, TX by the Reese family in 1924.  It rests on 19.5 acres spanning from North 10th to East North 16th Street.  In 1941 the home and property was purchased by the Thornton family, who owned the property for the next fifty years. In 1992 Bobby and Cindy Deegan purchased the home and began a complete transformation of the property, The Deegan family also gave the property it’s current name “Erinshire”.  Over the next 17 years the property was made into over three acres of lush gardens and an additional 16.5 acres of trails and scenic walks along Cedar Creek.  In walking the property you will no longer feel that your in West Texas, but in a lush shaded haven.  The property has been shared with the community and visitors since the Deegan family purchased it.  In keeping the tradition alive of sharing the beauty we are now opening the property to photography, weddings, banquets, and events.  For booking information or a tour of the property please feel free to contact us at one of the numbers or e-mail addresses listed on the About Us page.
